Ordering a cake

You can order a cake by contacting Toni on 01462 816077 or 07985 200726. Alternatively you can list your requirements using the contact us online form and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

How far in advance can I order?

You can order as far in advance as you like. We recommend at least 1 to 2 weeks notice. If you require a rich fruit cake, ideally you should give 3 or more month's notice. This is so that the cake has time to mature before it is required.

How many people do the cakes feed?

The table below gives a general guide. This is based on a standard 3x2x1 inch portion size which is typical for sponge based wedding cakes. However for other celebration cakes you may wish to count on a bigger portion size so please take this into account:

If you are ordering novelty cakes, let us know how many people you need to feed. Often for novelty cakes we need to sacrifice cake in order to achieve a shape, so will inevitably feed less. You could always consider having a plain "cutting cake" to make up the numbers or what about some co-ordinating cupcakes?

How can I get my cake?

Collections can be made from Lower Stondon, near Hitchin, UK. Delivery is free within a 10 mile radius of Hitchin (providing the amount payable is more than £25.00). Outside of 10 miles, delivery can also be made to within a 50 mile radius. The delivery charge is £0.40 per mile for the round trip from our postcode to the destination postcode and return.

Can you send the cupcakes to me?

We do not specialise in cakes by post with the majority of our cakes being within our delivery area. We tried sending the cupcakes using Royal Mail Special Delivery, but despite taking every precaution, the cakes did not arrive in a good condition. We can however arrange a special courier delivery should you require the cakes to be sent - price on application.

Cost includes all icing and simple decoration. If a bespoke decoration is required e.g. handmade roses or animal faces, further charges will apply. Minimum order number does not apply if bought in conjunction with other items or a main cake.

Can I choose the cupcake cases?

All cupcake cases are white. For all orders over 50 cupcakes, you are welcome to choose your cupcake cases, and we can help you to find the right one. The extra cost for the cupcakes must be covered by the customer.

Do you charge VAT?

We do not charge VAT. Commemorative cakes such as a wedding, anniversary or birthday cake fall into the zero rated VAT bracket.

What fillings would you recommend for my cake?

You can have whatever filling you like in your cake, however some flavours naturally marry well with certain types of cakes.

If you suffer from a particular food allergy, please don't hesitate to discuss as we are particularly experienced at providing tasty cakes that take account of the allergy.

We can provide iced biscuits or cupcakes tailored to your party theme.

Do you provide wedding cakes?

Yes, we do provide wedding cakes. Please speak to us about your ideas. Prices typically start at £200.00 and at least 2 month's notice is required.The prices are higher than quoted in the celebration cake section as wedding cakes have a layer of marzipan
